Social Presence Discovery

Verify social profiles for a list of local businesses

Finds verified social profiles and the owned website for a list of small, local businesses, confirming each URL matches the exact business and location. Mines links you already hold before searching, and leaves cells empty rather than guessing when it can't confirm anything.

About this Skill

When to use it

Use this Skill when you need to find Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, or other social profiles and the real website for a list of local businesses, and confirm each one actually belongs to that business. It turns a lead list into one with verified social links and an honest coverage count. Avoid using it for finding phone numbers or emails, qualifying or scoring businesses, pulling follower or post data, researching people at larger companies, or choosing which platform to contact a lead on.

What it delivers

You get an enriched lead list with verified social profile URLs and website links in their own columns, plus a coverage line showing how many businesses have each platform. Empty cells mean the skill couldn't verify anything, not that no profile exists.

How someone would prompt this

Here are my local business leads with name, city, and website; find their Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok profiles, verify each one matches the right business, and tell me how many actually have a TikTok.

Inputs & outputs

What someone provides before the Skill runs, and the reviewable artifacts it returns.

Inputs

  • 01Lead list
    • Provide a CSV or table with each business's name and city
    • include any links you already have, such as a website, social URL, or maps listing
    • optionally add owner name and trade.
  • 02Platforms & trade words
    • Choose which platforms to look for, defaulting to seven plus the owned website
    • give two or three words describing the business's trade to help confirm matches.
  • 03Directory blocklist
    • List hosts that are directories, booking sites, or link-in-bio pages rather than the business itself, so the skill never returns them as a profile or website
    • it offers a starting list to build from.
  • 04Verification strictness
    • Decide whether to drop a profile with a matching name but unconfirmed location, or keep it marked unconfirmed
    • the default is strict, which drops it.
  • 05Pre-fill enrichment
    • Optionally name a Clay enrichment that returns social handles from a domain to pre-fill rows before the skill reads any pages
    • the skill confirms its cost before running it.
  • 06Batch size & output
    • Set how many rows run per batch, starting at 10 then 50 by default
    • choose where results go, a new CSV beside the input or a named sheet.

Outputs

  • 01Enriched lead listYour original list with new columns for each verified profile URL and website plus an evidence note, while your original columns stay untouched.
  • 02Coverage lineA summary showing how many businesses have a verified profile on each platform, counting only confirmed URLs.

Representative output

Enriched lead list (added columns; inputs untouched)

BusinessLocalityFOUND_websiteFOUND_instagramFOUND_facebookFOUND_tiktokFOUND_yelpevidence
Blue Fern FloristPortland, ORbluefernflorist.exampleinstagram.com/bluefernfloristfacebook.com/bluefernfloristyelp.com/biz/blue-fern-florist-portlandIG bio → site; site footer → FB, Yelp; TikTok search: no match
Harbor Light PlumbingGloucester, MAinstagram.com/harborlightplumbingtiktok.com/@harborlightplumbingheld IG confirmed; IG bio → TikTok; website is a link-in-bio page, not returned
Northwind DentalBoise, IDheld FB belonged to a Northwind clinic in Denver, dropped; searches: three same-name businesses, none in Boise

The third row is the honest case: a held link was wrong and nothing verifiable replaced it, so every found cell is empty and the evidence column says why. It is none, not a failure.

Coverage line

412 rows · 409 researched, 3 skipped (no locality) · website 231 (56%) · Instagram 318 (78%) · Facebook 264 (65%) · TikTok 71 (17%) · YouTube 38 (9%) · Yelp 142 (35%) · Google Business 297 (73%) · 46 held links corrected or dropped · 0 enrichment credits

How the Skill runs

Follow the steps in order. Each row includes the full instruction.

01
Check access and confirm setup

Confirms the lead list has the required columns and, if you named an enrichment, that you're signed in; stops and asks for a fix if either is missing.

Step
02
Collect your inputs

Walks through the lead list, platforms, trade words, blocklist, strictness, enrichment, batch size, and output destination, asking only about what wasn't already mapped.

Step
03
Search and verify each business

Mines links already held, captures the owned website only from pages the business controls, searches for what's still missing, and verifies every URL against name, locality, and trade before accepting it.

Agent
04
Run free checks and price enrichment

Counts rows by what they already have and, if you named a pre-fill enrichment, confirms its per-row cost before the run starts.

Agent
05
Review a sample and approve the run

Runs 10 rows, shows the found profiles with evidence for each, then stops to show the full run's cost and what it will write, waiting for your approval before continuing.

Step
06
Process the remaining batches

Applies the same verification steps to the rest of the list in agreed batch sizes, writing verified URLs or empty cells and tracking real coverage counts.

Step
07
Record per-row and per-run results

Marks each URL as confirmed, corrected, or not found, each row as complete, partial, or none, and tallies coverage by platform.

Step
08
Deliver the results

Hands back the output file, a run log explaining every dropped link, and the coverage summary, noting that an empty cell means the skill found nothing it could verify.
