Compliance Buying Window

Time outbound to a target account's compliance window

This Skill places each target account's compliance stage (preparing, mid-audit, recently certified, established) using only what companies publish about themselves, so you can time outreach to real buying windows instead of stale certification news.

About this Skill

When to use it

Use this Skill when you want to know where each target account sits in its own security compliance cycle, using only trust pages, GRC job postings, and certification announcements the account publishes itself. It gives you a dated, evidence-backed buying-window stage per framework instead of a stale certification headline. Avoid using it for general signal monitoring, job-posting trend counts, ICP scoring, tech-stack detection, or event-based account sourcing.

What it delivers

You get a per-account, per-framework compliance stage digest with the date and quoted evidence behind each placement, plus a coverage and spend summary. Use it to decide which accounts to approach now versus nurture, while treating unplaced accounts as missing evidence rather than a negative signal.

How someone would prompt this

We sell a compliance automation platform. Check these 200 Series A and B software companies and tell me which are preparing for or currently inside a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 audit, so I know who to prioritize for outreach this quarter.

Inputs & outputs

What someone provides before the Skill runs, and the reviewable artifacts it returns.

Inputs

  • 01Target accounts & frameworks
    • A list of target company domains to place
    • the compliance frameworks you sell into (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.)
  • 02Sales mapping & role terms
    • Which stages mean reach out, nurture, or skip for your offer
    • the job titles that count as compliance hiring
  • 03Timing windows
    • How many days a job posting still counts
    • how many months a certification counts as recent
  • 04Budget & delivery
    • The maximum Clay credits this run may spend
    • where results go, conversation or a named CSV path

Outputs

  • 01Compliance stage digestA table listing each account, framework, stage, dating evidence, quoted proof line, and your next-move action, so you know which accounts to prioritize now.
  • 02Coverage and spend lineA short summary showing how many accounts it placed, flagged unreadable, or found no evidence for, plus the credits the run actually spent, so you can confirm coverage and cost.

The stages are the seven in Step 2 and no others. "Unreadable" means the skill could not look; "no-evidence" means it looked and found nothing. The next move column is copied from the installer's own mapping, not decided by the skill.

Coverage and spend line

186 accounts after dedupe · 171 placed on at least one framework · 7 unreadable · 8 no evidence on any framework · 5 trust portals left unread (render not approved) · 151 job lookups and 25 news lookups run · 55.2 credits reported by the calls.

How the Skill runs

Follow the steps in order. Each row includes the full instruction.

01
Check Clay access and costs

Confirms your Clay workspace connection and the live function catalogue, then explains that only Step 5's paid lookups cost credits.

Step
02
Define scope with you

Asks you to confirm the account list, frameworks, sales-stage mapping, role vocabulary, and timing windows before any reading starts.

Step
03
Set the seven-stage model

Applies a fixed order of compliance stages per account per framework, stopping at the first one that matches the evidence.

Step
04
Read free public pages

Checks each account's homepage and trust or security pages at no cost, quoting any dated compliance statements it finds.

Step
05
Review and approve paid lookups

Stops and shows a sample batch, the planned paid calls, and their price against your budget, waiting for your approval before anything bills.

Agent
06
Run approved paid lookups

Checks job postings and news results only for the accounts you approved, to date certifications or hiring for compliance roles.

Agent
07
Place every account

Assigns a final stage to each account and framework, and counts every row as placed, unreadable, or lacking evidence.

Step
08
Deliver the digest

Hands back the full compliance stage table, a coverage and spend summary, and an offer to save your answers for next time.
