Find Work Email

Find and verify a person's work email address using Clay — from their name and company, or their LinkedIn URL. Use whenever someone asks: find someone's email, what is this person's work email, get a verified email for this contact, find the email address of a person at a company, or turn a short list of names into verified work emails. It screens the domain free first (MX check, disposable/trap-domain screen — dead domains cost nothing), runs Clay's provider waterfall (cascading sources, stopping at the first valid hit, so you only pay for what it finds) plus deliverability verification, switches to a recovery track on catch-all domains where validators lie, and ships only addresses that plausibly belong to the person — role addresses (info@, sales@) are rejected, catch-all and risky results are flagged, and every address names the source that produced it. Do NOT use it to check an address you already have (verify-email-deliverability), to bulk-clean an existing list or CRM (clean-email-list), to identify who a person is from an email you already have (reverse enrichment), or to source net-new prospects by persona (people search). It never guesses email patterns.

Build Prospect List

Build a validated prospect list with Clay from a target definition: an ICP (vertical + geography + size band) plus buyer personas → a deduped, suppression-aware list of companies and the right people at them, every row carrying its evidence. Use whenever someone asks: build me a prospect list, find 50 VPs of Sales at mid-market SaaS companies, get me target accounts and decision-makers in this metro, source companies matching our ICP and the buyers at each, or build a TAM + contact list from scratch. It runs both arms of the motion — company sourcing, then people at those companies — and validates every person (still employed, on-persona) before they make the list. Do NOT use it to find emails or phones for the list (find-work-email / find-work-phone take each row from here), to write outreach (that is a personalize-outbound play), to enrich signups you already have (enrich-signup-users), or to find one known person (find-linkedin-profile). It never pads a short list with off-ICP rows, states cost before any paid enrichment, and sends nothing anywhere.

Account Tiering Workflow

Stand up an always-on account-tiering workflow in Clay — a signal-triggered pipeline that fires per account as it enters an audience, enriches it, scores its fit for your product, tiers it, and writes the result back onto the record with no one in the loop. Use whenever someone asks: build me an account-tiering workflow, score accounts for fit as they enter a segment, tier my book automatically and write it back to the CRM, run fit scoring on a schedule, or set up an unattended account-scoring pipeline. It scores prospects and existing customers on DIFFERENT rubrics (net-new fit vs upgrade potential), and it separates fit from timing: a strong-fit account with no live signal is Tier 2, not Tier 1. It reads the account record and public enrichment, and it WRITES six scoring fields back onto the account. Do NOT use it to tier a static list you paste in once with nobody triggering it (that is a function-calling scorer, not a workflow), to route inbound leads or people, to audit whether a CRM's existing fields are accurate, or to monitor a single company for one signal. It never contacts anyone and never deletes a field.

Enrich Signup Users

Turn raw product signups — often just an email, frequently a personal one — into routed, evidence-backed leads using Clay: classify every email into a routing enum first, identify the person, resolve and dedupe the company, score ICP fit, and route each signup to sales, sales-review, self-serve, or disqualify. Use whenever someone asks: enrich our signups, who are these trial users, de-anonymize our PLG signups, turn free-tier emails into pipeline, which signups should sales call, or reverse-enrich people from a list of emails. Works from a CSV with nothing but an email column. Do NOT use it to find a known person's email (find-work-email), to check an address's deliverability (verify-email-deliverability), to bulk-clean a list with no routing intent (clean-email-list), or to source net-new prospects by persona (people search); it writes nothing to a CRM and triggers no sequences — acting on the route is the enrich-and-route-leads play. It never fabricates an identity and states cost before any batch spend.

Renewal Risk Radar

Watch the accounts whose renewal is coming up and surface the ones that got riskier this week, each with its evidence, as a ranked digest waiting for you on Monday rather than requested. Per account it re-derives three independent risk signals: whether the champion changed employer, whether headcount fell, and whether the company went quiet. Runs unattended weekly as a Clay workflow; reads your CRM and public signals, writes only its digest, and never writes a record or contacts a customer. Use whenever someone asks: which of my renewals are at risk, build me a weekly churn-risk digest, tell me which accounts got riskier this week before their renewal, watch my renewing accounts for warning signs, or send me a Monday at-risk-renewals report. Do NOT use it for alerting the moment any champion changes jobs across your whole base (track-champion-job-changes), for positive buying signals like funding or expansion on a prospect list (monitor-buying-signals), for measuring one company's headcount trend on its own (headcount-growth), for auditing whether your CRM fields are accurate (account-health-audit), or for scoring or tiering accounts by fit (account-tier-scoring).
