Funding Signal Line

Writes a single copy-ready sentence about a company's funding round only after code confirms the raise is real and recent, so unverified rows produce no sentence at all.

About this Skill

When to use it

Use this Skill when you want a short, provable funding sentence for outreach or need to build a list of companies that have raised money. Code checks each company's funding record before the model writes any wording, so a sentence appears only when the evidence confirms the raise is real and recent enough. Avoid using it for a "raised in the last 30 days" list, since that path remains documented as unsolved here.

What it delivers

You get a row-by-row table with a ready-to-use funding sentence, its evidence link, and a confidence flag, plus a run summary showing usable and non-empty rates with reasons for every abstained row. The sentence never names a date, valuation, investor, or total funding, because testing showed those details wrong too often to trust.

How someone would prompt this

Build a list of Series A to Series E software companies that raised in the last 12 months, and write a one-line funding sentence for each I can drop into my cold email.

Inputs & outputs

What someone provides before the Skill runs, and the reviewable artifacts it returns.

Inputs

  • 01Company list & identifiers
    • Provide a table, CSV, or audience with a lowercase domain per row
    • include a company name column if you have one, used only for QA.
  • 02Funding rules
    • Set how many months old a round can be and still count
    • choose whether private equity minority stakes count as a raise (default excluded).
  • 03Connections & model
    • Connect the company-data source your workspace uses for lookups
    • confirm which model in your workspace writes the sentence.
  • 04Campaign wiring & abstain handling
    • Decide whether the sentence sits alone on its own line or you split campaigns at upload
    • choose whether abstaining rows stay in the list (default) or get excluded.

Outputs

  • 01Funding columns per rowEach row gets a funding sentence, the underlying clause, an evidence link, and a confidence flag you can review before sending.
  • 02Run summaryA summary report showing usable and non-empty rates with denominators, plus every abstained row and why, so you can judge list quality before sending.

Representative output

The funding columns, row by row

domainfunding_clausefunding_linefunding_confidencewhat happened
northstar-example.comyou raised $52M in the Series BSaw you raised $52M in the Series B.highequity round, 4 months old
vantageloop.exampleyou raised a Series ASaw you raised a Series A.highamount looked implausible, so the round is named without it
meridian-example.comyou closed a roundSaw you closed a round.highsource said Series unknown, a bucket label — fell back to "round"
harborline.examplelowlatest event was a secondary sale — guard 2 dropped it
pinegrove.examplelowlatest equity round is 3 years old — outside the window
atlas-example.comlowlookup returned a different company — guard 1 dropped it

The run summary

10 rows, adversarial test set
8 usable (2 lines written, 6 correct abstains)
2 misses both COVERAGE misses, not false claims
0 false claims <- the bar that matters

guard 1 (domain equality) dropped 1 wrong company
guard 2 (equity stage + 12mo) dropped 3 misleading "latest rounds"
of which: 1 secondary sale, 1 private equity, 1 outside the window

body wiring: self-erasing variable, {{funding_line}} alone on its line
QA: previewed 1 abstaining lead -- paragraph collapsed cleanly

How the Skill runs

Follow the steps in order. Each row includes the full instruction.

01
Confirm platform and scope

Checks that your workspace, company-data connection, and table are reachable, then states plainly that the run adds four columns and sends nothing.

Step
02
Build or use your company list

Adds an equity-stage and recency filter to your criteria if you need a funded-companies list, using a stage set and window you choose.

Step
03
Verify funding evidence

Looks up each domain's funding record and runs two checks confirming the company matches and the round is a real equity raise within your window; the run stops and waits for you to review 10 sample rows.

Step
04
Write the funding clause

The model writes one short clause describing the round, leaving out dates, valuations, investors, and total funding since those details are prone to error.

Action
05
Wire the sentence into your email

Sets whether the sentence sits alone on its own line or your campaign is split at upload, then the run stops and waits for you to preview one empty and one populated lead before sending.

Step
06
Deliver results and report rates

Reports the usable rate and non-empty rate separately with denominators, listing every abstained row and its reason.
