Get Top Conference Attendees

Finds and ranks the people worth meeting at a conference, then writes their research dossiers into your Clay Audiences.

About this Skill

When to use it

Use this Skill when you want a ranked, researched list of who to meet at an upcoming conference instead of a raw attendee list. It confirms the right event and company, scores attendees against your goals, and writes the people with completed research into your Clay Audience so you can filter, segment, or act on them.

What it delivers

You get audience records for attendees with completed research dossiers, each carrying a tier, score, attendance evidence, and conversation openers, plus a plain-language report showing which attendees it wrote, which it dropped, and which remain locked. The list reflects who Lanyard found and researched, not a confirmed guest list, and you must unlock any locked attendee manually before adding them.

How the Skill runs

Follow the steps in order. Each row includes the full instruction.

01
Explain Lanyard and confirm workspace

The skill introduces Lanyard in plain language, checks your Clay workspace access, and picks a durable folder to store campaign files before asking any questions.

Step
02
Confirm or connect Lanyard account

It checks for an existing Lanyard login, lets you keep that email or switch to another, and signs in with a one-time code if you have no account yet.

Step
03
Confirm which company is attending

You pick or type the company you represent; the skill scores every attendee against it, so getting this right is critical.

Step
04
Confirm the conference and edition

You name the conference and confirm the exact event edition with one click; the run stops here until you confirm the match is correct.

Step
05
Answer goal and attendee questions

Through a few short dialogue cards, you describe who counts as a good contact, say who is attending from your side, and share an attendee list if you have one.

Step
06
Review and approve the plan

The skill shows the event, campaign size, free dossier allowance, columns it will create, and estimated wait time, then stops until you approve both the spend and the write.

Step
07
Build the Clay workflow

After approval, it creates the needed Audience columns and a reusable workflow in your workspace, built once and reused for future conferences.

Step
08
Run the research campaign

The campaign researches and scores attendees on Lanyard, reporting progress only when the stage changes, typically finishing in 10 to 20 minutes.

Agent
09
Report results and locked attendees

It verifies the written count against your workspace, lists which attendees it wrote or dropped and why, and shows how many attendees remain locked by tier.

Step
10
Report results and locked attendees

It verifies the written count against your workspace, lists which attendees it wrote or dropped and why, and shows how many attendees remain locked by tier.

Step
11
Offer to unlock more attendees

It suggests a batch of locked attendees to unlock, shows the price and your credit balance, and stops for your approval before any spend.

Step
12
Top up later with new unlocks

Whenever you or someone else unlocks more attendees, on Lanyard's site or through this skill, the same command re-checks the campaign and writes only the newly enriched attendees.
